A Brief History on how we started

We decided to buy a Motorhome in the summer of 2007. Wanting to see  friends and family who live in France what better way to go and visit them. Luckily it turned out to be a really good way for us to explore not only France but Europe. So far we have been to France, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, Luxembourg, Austria, Germany, The Netherlands, Denmark, Italy, Slovenia and Croatia.

The first Motorhome we bought was an Autosleeper Nuevo I loved it, so comfortable but Hubby wanted something sleeker to get around all those narrow roads we seem to end up in.  In March 2010 we bought a brand new Peugeot Symbol it still has the Boxer Chassis but not coachbuilt.  It has everything we had before, the bed is a bit more of a challenge, Es put some  guide wheels under the bench seat so pulling out the bed is much easier.  Considering the cost of a new Motorhome you would think the design would be better.

We have met lots of friendly motor homers’ on our travels, all with their own stories. When we were in between Motorhomes last November we went on a B&B break to Belgium for a few days. We drove over in our car and took our bikes so we could cycle beside the canals near Brugge. Although we got quite a good deal on a B&B, we were not prepared for the amount of money we spent on eating out twice a day and buying coffees.

Needless to say we did not go away again until we had our new Motorhome.  We have had our ups and downs, for instance finding out the hard way that we needed a Vignette in Slovenia and Austria and having to pay a 150 Euro on the spot fine. We now tend to do a bit more research before entering a country. Although we have heard from other Motorhomer's that when visiting Switzerland they are more organised and sell you a Vignette at the border.

Our trips have taken us to some beautiful out of the way locations and the one that stands out in my mind is in Portugal near a place called Braga it has a lovely freshwater lake, we decided to park there for the night. Luckily there was another Motorhome parked beside the lake, we always like to park near someone else in out of the way locations.
We stopped to explore and decided to go for an early morning swim in the lake the next morning.
This turned out to be a brave decision as it was a bit cold at first but after a while it was lovely and very refreshing and we had it to ourselves – Bliss.

Another bonus my hair was really soft and manageable for a change instead of the unruly curly mess it usually is, if only I could have filled our water tank I would have had good hair day's for the rest of the trip.
